Another WM Hardy book - Wave Action of Our Coast

We are putting together a facsimile of William Masters Hardy's book Wave Action on our Coast, published in 1911. Some items in this book refer to events he recorded in his memoirs, which we included in our last Blurb book.

The extract below includes WMH's views on towns that discharged raw sewage directly into the sea.

"....I think that my readers will agree with me when I say that the
inhabitants of a city, borough, or town that discharges crude
sewage into the sea around our coast, especially in bays like
Studland, Swanage, Durlston, and Chapman's Pool, are
guilty of a crime, a public wrong against the sea and the land,
against humanity, and the fish in the sea. Therefore, it is
essential for the benefit and prosperity of any town situated
on the coast, that the sea and foreshore should be kept
absolutely pure."

The facsimile will be able to be purchased online through Blurb by late March.
