Brunner Guildhall - Winsford, Cheshire

We have been providing the Town Clerk to Winsford Town Council with advice and support for the council's desire to restore, adapt and revitalise the currently unoccupied Brunner Guildhall located in the High Street in the centre of Winsford.

The building was donated to the town after Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations by Sir John Thomlinson Brunner MP, owner of the chemical giant Brunner Mond. The announcement of the gift is recorded by the then town clerk, John Cooke in his record of the celebrations and the Brunner Guildhall was opened in 1899. See our book John Henry Cooke 'a very worthy gentleman' published in 2015 - http://www.blurb.co.uk/b/6539089-jh-cooke-1848-1928

The Brunner Guildhall is a Grade 2 listed building

A public meeting is being organised for Tuesday 13th February, 2018.
More details to follow.
